London Fashion Week: Coolest street style trends from the week
Held twice a year, in February and September, London Fashion Week is one of the most anticipated events in the fashion calendar. This prestigious event showcases the latest collections from renowned designers, emerging talents, and fashion houses, setting the tone for upcoming season trends. As the 2023 September edition concludes, here is a look at some of the best street styles from the week.
Vibrant colors
The core of individual style was nonconformity in London streetwear. As attendees to the show proudly displayed their unconventional tastes and fashion combinations, vibrant colors and striking patterns covered the streets. Bright colors are returning in a big way after a few seasons of more subdued tones. From pops of green and reds to neon greens and vivid yellows, London saw it all.
Black and blonde hair
Another wonderful trend observed on the streets was the contrasting combination of black and blonde hairstyles. The thin blonde streaks, despite their subtlety, added a face-framing charm. Take inspiration from one attendee's style, as she skillfully combined sleek black hair swirls to accentuate her platinum base. Another visitor was spotted sporting smooth, long black hair adorned with bright yellow highlights.
Tartan
The spirit of British heritage was brought into your street with tartans. Tartan, which consists of crisscrossed, horizontal and vertical bands of various colors was a highlight during the fashion week. The traditional British pattern known as tartan has always been fashionable. From skirts and shirts to coats and pants, tartan reappeared in a variety of outfits this season.
Cornrows
Wearing cornrows with straight backs is a classic look, but they may also be incredibly elegant. This braided hairstyle is simple yet stylish and powerful, akin to a sleek low bun. A visitor was spotted with Fulani braids, which is a unique style of tribal cornrows, making a bold statement. This guest matched it up with a daring dark lip shade.
Varieties of skirts
Attendees remained loyal to expressing their distinctive styles with poise and suaveness, donning everything from kilts to short skirts. Actress Ella Balinska was spotted walking down the streets with a ballet-inspired look, wearing a long-sleeved dress featuring a purple tulle tutu skirt. Meanwhile, another guest was seen in a grey mini-skirt paired with a loose-fitting brown jacket.
