Badami
Badami used to be the capital of the Badami Chalukyas from AD 540 to 757. Formerly known as Vatapi, Badami is famous for its rock-cut monuments like the Badami cave temples, and structural temples such as the Badami Shivalaya, Bhutanatha temples, and Jambulingesvara temple. HRIDAY, Heritage City Development, and Augmentation Yojana scheme of the Government of India, selected Badami as a heritage city.
Bucesvara Temple
Situated in the Koravangala village of Karnataka's Hassan district, Bucesvara Temple is one of the hidden gems in the state. The temple is a great example of 12th century Hoysala architecture and is protected under the Archaeological Survey of India as a monument of national importance. The temple was built in 1173 AD by Buchiraja who was an officer under Hoysala King Narasimha I.
Maravanthe Beach
With the splendid Kodachadri hills in the backdrop, Maravanthe Beach is one of the least explored locations in the state. You can sit here for hours on the golden sand, watching the waves. Thonnur Lake
If you are in Karnataka, then you must visit the stunning Thonnur Lake. The lush green surroundings here are simply captivating. The lake is 145 meters in length and 230 meters in height. According to legends, it is believed that the Vaishnava saint Ramanujacharya had constructed it. However, others say that it's a natural lake formed through rainwater collection from the Yadavanadi River.
