Jammu man buys land on Moon; here's how you can
After India's Chandrayaan-3 successfully soft-landed near the Moon's south pole on August 23, a man from Jammu and Kashmir bought land on the lunar surface. Rupesh Masson, a businessman and educationist, purchased a plot two days after the country made history. He bought it from The Lunar Registry in New York City, which was certified on August 25.
Masson bought the land at Lacus Felicitatis on the Moon
Sharing the details of his lunar plot with Hindustan Times, Masson revealed the exact location as "Luna Earths Moon, Tract 55-Parcel 10772 known as Lacus Felicitatis (Lake of Happiness)." According to the 49-year-old, it is satisfying to buy land on the Moon as it instills hope that it will be a cost-effective psychological escape for people confronting climate change.
Many notable personalities own a piece of land on Moon
Shah Rukh Khan and late actor Sushant Singh Rajput also own a piece of land on the Moon. Rajput even had an advanced telescope from which he used to view his land. Masson revealed to Hindustan Times that an astounding 675 celebrities around the world and three former presidents of the United States of America have extra-terrestrial land holdings, including those on different planets.

Taking to the skies on September 2 will be 'Aditya L1' which will flow about 1.5 million km from Earth to study the effects of the Sun on the space weather. Next up is Gaganyaan, India's first mission of sending three people into space.
