iPhone glitch causes woman's alarm to buzz at 9:25 am
A woman in the United Kingdom recently took to her TikTok to share a weird glitch in her iPhone that causes her alarm to blow up sharp at 9:25 am without her even setting it in the first place. She has been struggling with this for the past five years and had reported this issue to the folks at Apple, leaving even them baffled.
'Am I going to die at 9:25 in the morning'
"Am I going to die at 9:25 in the morning" captioned the befuddled Angele Sofia as she shared the bizarre glitch with the world. Explaining her ordeal, she recorded, "Basically, I've an alarm that goes off every morning at 9:25 am. without fail. And I do not have an alarm set at 9:25, nor have I ever had an alarm set at 9:25 am."
'I was like I didn't know I set an alarm'
When Sofia newly discovered this issue, she was confused as to whether she did or didn't set an alarm for 9:25 am. "I was like I didn't know I set an alarm," she told the NY Post, whenever her alarm used to buzz at the aforementioned time. Her "alarming" woe has grabbed the world's attention with people coming up with different theories.
Alarm 'only rings' when phone on silent; only sounds once
Strange (and hilarious!) as it may sound, Sofia shares that this peculiar alarm on her phone "only rings" when her phone is on silent! And if things couldn't get any more eerie, she further revealed that as opposed to how alarms function normally on devices when the user presses stop or snooze, this one "only sounds once" like an alert. Horror movie-like much?
Sofia changed her phone but the alarm won't stop buzzing
Sophia thought changing to a new device may come to her rescue but unfortunately, it didn't. The glitch apparently "haunts" every new device that the iPhone user buys from Apple! Reportedly, this is because she, like anyone else would, transfers her data to her new gadgets. "My 9:25 alarm comes with it, and it's the most stressful thing," she shared on TikTok.
No Apple employee can figure it out
This problem is so uniquely peculiar that no Apple employee can resolve it, giving the poor woman a break at 9:25 am. Sofia is adamant about avoiding a factory reset (which seems like a potential solution) because she fears losing her data forever. "I genuinely think at this point there's nothing I can do," she said in the video.
TikTokers suggest remedies and some of them are too funny
Tech enthusiasts on TikTok flooded Sofia's comments section with some remedies that may work. One of them suggested, "Try adding one at 9:25 and then turn it off and delete it!!," which didn't help. Another shared, "It's your sleep schedule. Which is at the top of your screen called 'sleep | wake up' And your alarm is named 'no alarm'. I know I'm right."
She even deleted Clock, Calender, Reminders but to no avail
The woman in a perpetual 9:25 am-stricken distress even deleted apps like Clock, Calender, Reminders, and all other possible apps that may use the alarm feature from her iPhone but her gadget won't stop buzzing. As proof, she's seen holding her phone at 9:24 am in her viral TikTok video and a minute later, it chimes bringing Sofia to the brink of tears!
