According to Singh, a diet rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals can combat free radicals, reducing oxidative stress which is a key factor in aging and skin damage. "A sugar-high diet and processed foods can exacerbate inflammatory skin conditions like acne and eczema," she explains.

Chronic stress can manifest on the skin in many forms, such as inflammation and premature aging. It can trigger or worsen skin conditions such as psoriasis, rosacea, and acne. "Stress hormones like cortisol can disrupt the skin's barrier function, leading to dehydration and sensitization. Additionally, stress can exacerbate hormonal imbalances, further impacting skin health," the expert says.
