How to use hot rollers correctly? (and some hair styles)
If you are looking forward to sporting some pretty curls, then hot rollers are the perfect old-school beauty tool that must be included in your hairstyle routine. The classic hairstyle with voluminous curls is timeless and can be mastered by using your hot rollers carefully and correctly. You can also use them to create ringlets and beachy waves. Read on to know how.
Shampoo your hair and heat the rollers
Your hair should be completely dry and clean before you start using the hot rollers. So, first, wash your hair gently with a mild shampoo, and then apply your conditioner while you plug in the hot rollers to get them heated. Dry your hair properly and spray hair protection spray on your tresses to define your curls as you put the hot rollers on.
Section your hair and roll from the roots
Next, divide your hair into four large sections. One on top of your head, one on each side, and another in the back. Secure each section with a hair clip until you put on the rollers. Then, wrap your hair up using the hot roller starting from the roots and secure with the roller pin. Roll in different directions to avoid uniform curls.
Let the rollers cool and then take off
Don't make the mistake of removing the rollers too soon. Let them stay on your hair and cool for at least 20 minutes before unrolling them to make the hairstyle long-lasting. After removing the rollers, run your fingers through your hair to fluff up the curls. Do not brush your hair. Finish off with a light hair spray to maintain and hold the curls.
Bouncy ponytail and mermaid waves
Here are some of the hairstyles you can create. If your ponytail looks thin, then use hot rollers on the lower portion of your ponytail to give an illusion of thicker hair. If you want to sport mermaid waves, twist your hair with your fingers. Then, use the hot roller from the base and wrap the twisted hair around the rollers.
Bouncy waves and ringlet hairstyle
If you want loose and bouncy waves, then first smoothen out your hair using a mousse. Wrap each hair section with large rollers and roll your entire hair in the same direction. Let them stay for 20 minutes and then remove them. You can also create ringlets by rolling each side section of your hair in vertical rows by using the smallest hot rollers.
