To reduce risk, keep your surroundings clean. Also, make sure to remove all potential causes of allergy (try using hit-and-trial method). or talk to your vet, if need be.
Buy pet-friendly furniture
If you have a pet at home, then you need to careful about your choice of furniture. Strain-resistant fabric is the way to go. Hence, make sure to avoid velvets, silk, and tweed - all these are vulnerable to stains and scratches. Not just that, also avoid buying light colors, as stains are more likely to show up on them.
Clean your house frequently; Say no to smoking
Cleaning: Unlike you, your pets live in close contact with the ground, and are thus increasingly exposed to dust, which they often end up licking/consuming. Hence, make sure to vacuum and dust your home frequently. Smoking: Firstly, try and quit smoking. However, if you can't let go of it completely, just make sure to light it at a good distance from your pooch.
