Want pretty feet? Try these feet and nail care tips
Have you ever come across a pair of feet so beautiful that you wished you had such pretty feet as well? It's not uncommon to drool over pretty things, but what if we said you could make your feet as beautiful as the ones you admire? Before we begin with the remedies, please visit a doctor if you have ingrown nails, infections, or corns.
Clean, scrub and moisturize
The first and foremost thing to do is keep your feet clean. At the end of the day, dip your feet in a bucket of soap-induced warm water for a couple of minutes and scrub off the dirt. Exfoliate your heels every week using a body scrub with a pumice stone. Be gentler with the upper feet. Then use a high moisturizing foot cream.
Apply sunscreen
People neglect applying sunscreen to their feet. That is a huge mistake, as your feet get exposed to the sun as much as any other part of your body. Not only does it protect the skin on your feet from harmful UV rays but also prevents ugly tan marks on the feet. Too much sun exposure can lead to wrinkly and dark feet.
Give your toenails a breather
No matter how much you love painted toenails, it is important to keep your nails as-is from time to time. This polish-free time lets your nails breathe and grow healthily. It's recommended to remove nail polish once a month and leave nails free of polish for at least a week. This also helps prevent discoloration of the nails.
Eat well
Our toenails bear the brunt of ill-fitting shoes, knocks here and there, and old chipped nail polish. It's distressing to watch your nails break easily due to dryness and brittleness. Strengthen your nails with a diet rich in calcium, vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and Biotin. Make sure you consume fish, lean meat, eggs, nuts, dairy, carrots, and tomatoes.
Wear the right footwear
Choosing the right footwear is of utmost importance. High heels or ill-fitting footwear affect your posture badly and deform the feet. High heels often fix your toe in permanent hyperextension or cause bunions, ingrown toenails, and corns--all of which not only look bad but are also major health concerns you must consider before wearing high heels in the long run.
