Expert shares tips to improve your bond with your sister-in-law
Building strong bonds with your sister-in-law can add a wonderful dimension to your family relationships. Whether you are newly connected or looking to strengthen an existing connection, fostering a positive relationship with your sister-in-law can bring an extended sense of family. NewsBytes got in touch with relationship coach Jeevika Sharma to learn some tips on how one can strengthen bonding with their sister-in-law.
Interaction is the key
There's nothing that a good conversation can't do when it comes to relationships. To maintain good relations with your sister-in-law, Sharma suggests that interaction is one key way to go about it. "This will be a start towards building a strong bond with her. Understanding someone's perspective and appreciating it is the key to developing a good bond with them," says Sharma.
Travel with her
Another great way to bond with your sister-in-law is by traveling. You can start with planning outings or small getaways with her. This would allow you to communicate with her more, know her better, and further help make the bond stronger. "Traveling together will make you both comfortable with each other and will narrow down the communication between you two," says Sharma.
Support them
"Be with her when they are mentally or emotionally disturbed. Talk to her, befriend her, discuss the issues, and share your stories with her. This will not only lift her mood but also improve your relationship with her," Sharma explains. This would also help her reciprocate by being present when you are going through tough times.
Build trust
Build trust with your sister-in-law. It may take time to build one but remember to give space and time for your relationship to grow. Additionally, try to be as authentic as possible. "Trust issues can ruin the relationship. Trust her and do not break her trust. This will keep the bond between you and your sister-in-law stronger for a longer period," says Sharma.
