Want to build a balcony garden? Here are some tips
Everyone loves the idea of having a nice and breezy garden at home, but the serious lack of space in modern-day apartments always gets in the way. Don't lose hope though, you can use that handy balcony space to turn it into a makeshift garden, that's both therapeutic and a great value addition to your home. Here are tips to design a balcony garden.
Get green/wooden flooring; Make use of the railing
Flooring: Ditch the tiles and the regular rug. To start building your balcony garden, go for an artificial green carpet or turf rug. You can also consider wooden flooring for a classy edge. Railing: You need to maximize the space in your balcony garden. For this, install a shelf or hanging flower boxes along the railing of your balcony to create some extra space.
Make seating arrangements; Consider installing a shelf
Seating: Leave enough space for a table and a couple of chairs, preferably at the center of the balcony so you can have a little tea break in your humble garden from time to time. Shelf: Well, don't fill up your balcony floor, remember that you need space to walk around too. Arrange an old shelf to stack up more plants, if need be.
Think about other decorations; Light up your garden
Decoration: Plants aren't the only thing that make a balcony garden attractive. Look for other decorative items such as statues, lanterns, candlesticks, or some hanging decor, to build the prettiest balcony in the neighborhood. Lighting: What's the use of all those plants and decoration if you can't see any of it during night time? Give your balcony decent lighting so it never looks dull.
