In Indian bubble teas, consider adding flavored tapioca pearls or popping boba like mango, green chili or lychee for an extra burst of local zest. Popping boba is used mostly in slushies, while chewy boba goes well with milk teas.
Creamy coconut jellies
"Coconut is a staple in Indian cuisine, and its creamy flavor can be a delightful addition to bubble tea," says Kohli. "Coconut milk or coconut cream toppings add a tropical twist to your beverage. Experiment with coconut-based jellies or even shredded coconut as unique toppings on your drink," recommends the expert. This topping works well with pineapple or lime-flavored bubble teas and smoothies.
Jelly and fresh fruit add-ons
Introduce a burst of fruity flavors with jelly add-ons, with lychee, mango, or passion fruit jelly. Indian-inspired jellies such as rose or guava can be excellent additions, infusing a hint of traditional flavors into your bubble tea. Kohli suggests Indian bubble teas can benefit from the infusion of spiced syrups like cardamom, kala khata, or kokum to bring a familiar taste to your drink.
