Creative ways to document your child's growing-up years
One of the biggest blessings for parents is to watch their little bundles of joy grow and thrive. What makes it even more special for them is when they see their grown-up kids feeling nostalgic with their #throwback pictures from their childhood. So to make every moment count before your little ones turn into young adults, here's how you can creatively document their journey.
Make a milestone book for your kiddos
One of the easiest and most fun ways to track your child's growing-up years is to maintain a milestone book, capturing every significant event in their life. Right from their first birthday, the first step they took, and the first word they spoke, to their first day at school, first picnic, and first family vacation, document everything and make a collection.
Keep a journal and put it all on paper
Put everything on paper from your point of view - right from how you felt during your pregnancy and how you felt when you first held your baby. Journal all that's emotional, mischievous, funny, sad, and joyful, and make a timeline of each incident. Believe us, when they grow up and read this journal, they will be on a roller coaster ride of emotions.
Have family photoshoots at different stages of their lives
Get a professional photographer and have the entire family pose for a small shoot at different stages of your child's life. When they grow up, this will not only make them nostalgic but also cherish how others in the family looked when they were young. Initially, this may seem like a task but years from now you'll see it's worth all the effort.
Memento box
This approach involves collecting a few items that your child uses during different stages of their life including infancy, toddlerhood, preschool years, early school years, adolescence, young adulthood, etc. These items could be toys, stationery, or any knick-knack. Put an item every year in a box and gift it to them on their 18th birthday. This will instantly remind them of their growth years.
