A step-by-step guide to do the muted skin makeup
Muted skin has been in vogue for some time now, with many celebrities acing the look. Muted skin tones became a trend this year, when bright and heavy makeup took a backseat. As the name suggests, this style is all about toning down the look, which relies on a monochrome finish. Here's a step-by-step guide on how you can easily achieve the look.
Begin by cleansing your face and applying a toner
The first step to applying any makeup product is to clean the face and get rid of excess oil. Remove any makeup remnants on the skin and eye by using micellar water. Wash your face thoroughly with a face wash. Next, use a water-based cleanser to remove leftover dirt. Wipe clean and apply toner using a cotton pad, evenly across the skin.
Moisturize and evenly apply your primer
After cleansing and toning, apply your sunscreen, followed by a moisturizer. As the next step, it is important that you apply a layer and allow it to sit for a while or air dry it before applying the next layer. Once the moisturizer is well absorbed, take a pea-sized amount of primer and apply it all over your face and neck.
Skip the foundation and apply a BB cream uniformly
The main motive behind the muted look is for an easy breezy makeup, which doesn't have too much base or a foundation. Apply a BB cream once the moisturizer settles in. If you have dark spots and dark circles to conceal, apply a concealer on those spots. Make sure that the cream is applied in uniform manner and there are no heavy patches.
Apply warm tones on the cheek, eye and lips
The key to a muted look is working with warm colors on the cheek, eye and lips that match your skin tone. Dusky tones like sunset orange or light brown are what you should be looking for. Apply the same tint to the eyes, lips and apple of the cheeks. Apply light mascara and skip the eyeliner totally for achieving a natural muted look.
