Blind pimple: What it is and how to cure it
A blind pimple is a form of acne that develops underneath the skin's surface. This type of acne develops from a combination of sebum (oil), bacteria, and the dirt that gets trapped in your pore. Although a blind pimple cannot be spotted from a distance, you can feel the lump, and it's irritating and painful. Here are some remedies to deal with blind pimples.
Just don't squeeze a blind pimple
You perhaps hear this piece of advice regarding acne all the time, but it should especially be followed in case of blind pimples. Since these pimples aren't on the surface of the skin, they're quite difficult to pop. So, trying to squeeze them may worsen inflammation in the area. It may even lead to increased redness, marks, permanent scarring, or worse, an infection.
Apply a warm compress
Warm compresses can be great at knocking off blind pimples. By drawing the pimple closer to the skin's surface, they enable the sebum, cells, and bacteria to exit the skin. The heat may also help relieve the pain. You can easily create a warm compress by soaking a clean washcloth in hot water. Use this method for 10-15 minutes, three/four times a day.
Use Tea tree oil
A gentler and more natural alternative to antibiotics and over-the-counter, chemical-infused treatments, Tea tree oil's antibacterial properties can help kill the bacteria that may cause blind pimples. To use Tea tree oil for blind acne, apply some of it over the affected area and leave it on, overnight. Rinse it with a face wash in the morning. Apply daily until the pimple goes away.
Apply an ice pack; Use raw honey for blind pimples
Ice pack: Applying an ice pack over blind pimples can help fight redness, inflammation, and swelling in the area. Put some ice cubes in a clean towel/plastic bag, and apply over affected area for 5 minutes. Repeat the procedure three/four times a day. Raw honey: The antimicrobial properties of honey can help eliminate bacteria. Apply some raw honey and leave overnight to see results.
