Haldi ceremony: Limited budget? Try these simple decor ideas
When it comes to wedding functions, there's probably nothing as enjoyable as the Haldi ceremony. It's an experience in and of itself, with all the vibrant colors, a hint of turmeric in the air, and exquisite decorations everywhere. If budget is a constraint, consider these beautiful Haldi decor ideas that won't have you splurging.
Make use of 'uruli'
Rent two statement urulis, a kind of traditional kitchenware. Ensure they are polished. Now set up a platform in the area and layer it up with yellow fabric or paint. Create a large wooden frame and place it behind the urulis. Cover the frame with flowers and also fill in the platform with them. Choose yellow/orange colored flowers for better visual appeal.
Traditional Haldi charm
If you wish to give a traditional or vintage vibe to your Haldi, then rent or borrow an antique wooden separator. Get some floral garlands in white, pink, and yellow and line it up on the separator. Keep your classic sofa, diwan, or any seating arrangement you have in your home in front of the separator. Throw in a few bright embroidered cushions.
Vibrant rangoli patterns
Get some antique lanterns and brass diyas. You can also get some earthen pots if you wish. Now make a rangoli with flower petals- either a big rangoli or multiple smaller ones together. Then place the items inside the designs and top it up with lotus buds or flower petals. Stick to flowers with two or three colors to avoid looking messy or clouded.
Draping fabrics
For the ideal bride and groom seating for a stunning Haldi function decorating, rent or buy some sheer drapes or utilize dupattas to hang them behind. Your in-house Haldi decor will seem more festive with a set of vibrant drapes. Add fairy lights downwards to these fabrics for better illumination. Alternatively, you can also hang flower garlands over the fabrics.
Eco-friendly decor
Banana leaves in the background give you the best contrast visual appeal for Haldi. Simply get some fresh banana leaves and pin them on the wall or the foam board backdrop. If you are planning to do it outdoors, get a big wooden backdrop that can be placed on a stand on which you can keep the leaves.
