Grammys 2022: Fashion and beauty trends that ruled the gala
The 64th Grammy Awards took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3. The ceremony was earlier scheduled for January, but due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19, it was pushed ahead. The red carpet shone brightly as stars descended wearing amazing outfits--some quirky, some traditional--donning looks that you can only expect to see at the Grammys.
Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish dazzled in black
We saw Oscar-winning singer Billie Eilish wearing an all-black snazzy ensemble complete with a trench coat, black sunglasses, and black boots. Dua Lipa's black bondage-style black Versace dress with gold buckles also grabbed eyeballs as she looked stunning in her platinum blonde hair. She chose gold for her accessories to complement the buckles--a huge choker necklace and gold jewels around one hand.
But it was pink that stole the show
However, it was pink that ruled the Grammys this year. We saw double-nominee Saweetie wearing a hot pink Valentino two-piece outfit. Then there was Chrissy Teigen who looked glamorous in a fuchsia ballgown with a ruffled bodice. St. Vincent impressed in a flamingo pink Gucci gown with hot pink ruffles. Also, did you see Justin Bieber in his beanie (which was also pink)?
Bold blonde hairstyles
We already told you how Dua Lipa's platinum blonde flowy locks stole the show. Saweetie looked sassy in her icy-cold pixie that went perfectly with her hot pink ensemble. Halsey wore a classy hat while giving a peek at her deep oxblood hair. Olivia Rodrigo sported glossy hair, a trend that has taken over 2022. Here is how you can get it too.
Y2K spiky hair created nostalgic vibes
However, it was the Y2K spiky hair (remember Lizzie McGuire?) that is predicted to rule 2022, especially with Y2K styles making a comeback this year. Doja Cat sported spiky icy platinum blonde with Bantu knots and twists that gave her a very '90s pop star look. Billie Eilish went all black and sported spiky hair along with bangs falling till her eyes.
Smokey eye to neon liners, eye makeup was on point
Celebs played immensely with eye makeup this year. Megan Thee Stallion's twist on the graphic eyeliner with an extended inner corner liner was bold and beautiful. Avril Lavigne sported a smokey eye complete with jet-black lashes. Lil Nas X's neon blueliner in the inner corner of the eyes reminded us that we all need a pop of color in our lives.
Some more trends
Halsey's two-toned deep red lip liner-lipstick combo was so '90s. Olivia Rodrigo's pink-tinted eye makeup looked sweet and sexy. Megan sported fuller lips with a darker lip liner. Chloe Bailey and Dreezy taught us how to perfectly sport your baby hair.
