Foods that leave you hungry. Say what now?
Hunger is the body's way of telling that it needs food. However, you may also find yourself hungry after eating! There are a few food items that can increase your hunger pangs when consumed. And this happens mainly due to the variation of nutrient content in the foods. Offerings with high carbohydrates and low protein and fiber are some of them.
Yogurt
Low-fat versions frequently lack the dairy fat that can make you feel full and instead contain sugars that can cause a blood sugar increase. This can make you feel hungry too fast. Instead, choose plain, full-fat yogurt topped with granola, berries, and nuts. More fiber, chewing, and contentment are all benefits.
Fruit juice
Having fruits as a whole can make you feel full and slow down the flow of sugar into your blood due to the fiber content in the fruits. However, it is not the same when you squeeze them to make juices. Fruit juices lack fiber content which leads to blood sugar spiking and dropping. This leaves you hungry quickly.
White rice
High in carbohydrates and starch, having white rice can result in a sudden spike in blood sugar levels followed by a sudden crash. This induces hunger pangs. Go for brown rice if you need an alternative. Brown rice does not lead to sudden spikes and drops in sugar levels. Just don't overcook it. Basmati rice too works as an alternative.
Egg whites
You won't feel satisfied if you leave out the yellow part in the egg's center to cut calories. The yolk contains amino acids, which your body uses to create new cells. The amount of saturated fat and cholesterol in a whole egg isn't likely to be harmful to you, according to recent studies. Hence remember to have a whole egg to avoid feeling hungry.
Cereals
Some grains, especially those marked "reduced sugar," include artificial sweeteners that have been hidden. Artificially sweetened food might raise blood sugar levels and make you feel more hungry after eating more. The body won't feel satiated when you consume a sweet taste that is promoted as having no calories and will continue to look for the calories there, resulting in a feeling of hunger.
