Happy birthday, Arjun Kapoor! Here are his fittest looks ever
From struggling with obesity to flaunting six-pack abs, Arjun Kapoor has come a long way when it comes to physical transformation. He used to weigh 140 kg before his acting career took off with Ishaqzaade and today, he flaunts an envious physique that most of us can only dream of. As he turns 38 today, let's admire his five fittest looks ever!
Ishaqzaade: From fat to fit, Kapoor left no stone unturned
Kapoor has lived those days when he had to choose business class owing to wider seats and not being able to run for more than 10 seconds. However, he found his 'fitspiration' in Salman Khan and did a combination of cardio, weight training, circuit training, cross-fit, and exercises including squats, pull-ups, bench presses, and deadlifts to lose 50 kg in four years!
Gunday: His ripped look became the talk of the town
Kapoor trained with fitness coach Harry Ranson for his chiseled look in Gunday. Per reports, he used to indulge in a strength-based workout that included multi-joint exercises five days a week. Also, his workout sessions usually lasted for 90 minutes daily for 16 long weeks! Additionally, Ranson had put him on a protein-rich diet that had a lot of whole foods and fruits.
Panipat: Kapoor's intense, 6-day workout is no mean feat
For Panipat, Kapoor trained with celebrity fitness trainer Shivoham. If reports are to be believed, he worked out for six days a week and did a combination of exercises including 150 rounds of skip rope, 50 air squats, 50 push-ups, 50 burpees, 50 wall ball shots, and 50 minutes of strict CrossFit, lunges, squats, and jumping jacks. He also practiced cycling and running.
Making his way to fitness like a pro!
'Tevar': His rugged appearance became an instant hit
In Tevar, Kapoor played a kabaddi player and worked out accordingly to ace those action scenes. He took 25 days of kabaddi training and shared screen space with professional players to push himself beyond his limits and to make the scenes appear realistic. Additionally, he did high-intensity cardio using a treadmill or cross trainer and took certain nutritionist-advised protein supplements.
'Ek Villain 2': The actor received appreciation for his transformation
Having come a long way, Kapoor believes that he is still a work in progress. When the trailer was launched, he was lauded by his colleagues Kartik Aaryan, Parineeti Chopra, Kriti Sanon, and Katrina Kaif, for his fitness transformation. "It's hugely validating for me to see the outpouring of love for my transformation in the Ek Villain 2 trailer," he told Filmfare.
