What's the story

Chai aka tea is an aromatic comfort beverage that has won the hearts of people across the world. Now a new trend is taking the beverage world and social media by storm- caramel chai. Caramel chai offers a unique twist on the classic cup of chai, adding a layer of creamy sweetness that's both soothing and indulgent.

Concept

What is caramel chai?

In caramel chai, strong flavors of Indian masala chai are expertly paired with the indulgently sweet, buttery richness of caramel. This fusion produces a silky, aromatic drink that's ideal for sipping on chilly mornings, as a pick-me-up in the afternoon, or as a nice nightcap. Caramel chai can be best enjoyed with Indian namkeens (salty bites) and snacks served hot.

Process

How to make it

Take two teaspoons of water in a pan and add sugar to it. Now caramelize it by stirring constantly on low flame. Add water to the caramelized sugar and let it boil for a few seconds. Now add milk and cardamom for a subtle flavor. Boil it for a few minutes. Then add tea leaves and simmer. Then strain and serve.

Other tea fusion flavors

Fusion flavors in tea have gained immense popularity in recent years as they offer a delightful blend of traditional tea with exciting and unexpected ingredients. Before caramel, many fusion flavors were on trend. A prominent one is a nutty-flavored tea, made from almonds, pistachio, and hazelnuts. Deserts such as apple pie, and chocolate cake were also the inspiration behind some teas.
