Five easy DIY home decor projects you should try out
Your dream home is incomplete without proper decor. But it isn't too wise to spend so much money first on the house and then on its decor. Fortunately, home decor doesn't have to be expensive. Just take up some easy DIY (do-it-yourself) projects for your home decor. Short on ideas, aren't you? Here are some good ones.
DIY lamp shade
A lamp can instantly glam up your space and make it look complete. Try this: Take a 12*12 inches cloth piece, a bowl, and white cement in a thin consistency. Cover the bowl with the cloth and pour the cement over it. Then let it dry. Finally, make a hole in the center, spray paint it and fix a bulb inside it.
DIY cushion covers
For this, you will need a set of cushion covers, design stencils, and paints. Firstly, place a layer of newspaper inside each of the covers to prevent the other side from getting paint prints. After this, spread out the cushion covers one by one. Place the stencil and paint. Or you can just draw the design without the stencils and then paint it carefully.
Make paper roses for side table
Making these beautiful paper roses is pretty simple. Cut three 2*2 inch squares of paper, fold them twice, then diagonally join one end to the other. Cut a curve on the top and the center of the flower. Cut one flower with five petals, and the other two with four and three. Now keep sticking the layers in ascending order of the petals.
DIY name plate
A beautiful name plate can be a great value addition for every home, and even adds a personal touch to your abode. Take a handmade sheet, double it up and paste it together, then write the desired title in a stylish font. Or you can simply paste printed letters on the sheet. Decorate the border and hang it at your home's entrance.
Transform a dull wall into an interesting art piece
Bored of too many dull and empty walls in your home? Try this: Stick tapes all over a wall in the desired pattern. Then, paint the complete wall with your favorite color. Once the paint dries out, take off the tapes. Voila, your elegant wall design is ready. Now, go ahead, add photo frames and hanging plants to make it even prettier.
