Chandni Chowk Shopping Festival on September 9: What to expect
Calling all shopaholics in Delhi! Shop to your heart's content at this day-long extravaganza happening on September 9. We are talking about the Chandni Chowk Shopping Festival, which is being organized by the Chamber of Trade and Industry and a few local trade unions in the city. The fair shall feature a whopping 5,000 traders offering the best of food, fashion, and folk performances.
From sarees to jalebi, there's something for everyone
Per reports, this bonanza will feature stalls of sarees, lehengas, suits, dupattas, and so much more, giving shoppers an opportunity to get their hands on the best from Chandni Chowk. The thoughtful organizers are also planning to set up food stalls where you can savor jalebi, tikki, chole bhature, dahi bhalle, gol gappe, rabri, kulfi, and other famous dishes while shopping.
No entry fee; Bollywood celebs, influencers, and politicians also invited
The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI), in a report, stated, "There will be no entry fee. Bollywood celebrities, politicians, media organizations, social media influencers, and bloggers will also be invited." With this, the footfall at the fair is likely to be high.
Various exhibitions and events to be held
The organizers are also planning to set up game zones, folk song and dance performances, and other cultural programs to keep visitors entertained. There will be various exhibitions, showcasing products for the upcoming festive season in India. "This will help traders to exhibit their products and also let people explore the fashion, food, and culture of the famous Chandni Chowk market," said CTI.
The objective is to exhibit Chandi Chowk's vibrant culture
Per reports, Brijesh Goyal, who is the chairman of CTI, said, "The main motto of Chandni Chowk Shopping Festival is to exhibit the diverse and vibrant culture of Chandni Chowk and also tell about the oldest market of national capital to a wider audience." He also added that the major theme of this one-day festival is "both business-to-consumer and business-to-business."
'Saubhagyawati Edition' to be organized in a South Delhi resort
Besides the Chandni Chowk Shopping Festival, the CTI has also collaborated with the Delhi Unstitch Salwar Suit Association (DUSSA) to organize a series of luxurious lifestyle exhibitions named "Saubhagyawati Edition." It is a coming together of different associations like the lehenga association, jewelers association, and mercantile association, etc. and will be hosted at a resort situated in South Delhi.
