How to build the perfect home theater
Having a home cinema means diving deep into your pockets to create an amazing space for you, your friends, and your family. If you are going to spend a bomb on creating one, you need to do it absolutely right. There are a few basics that you need to keep in mind while planning a home cinema. Let's take a look at them.
Choose a room
The room should ideally be separate from the rest of the house as otherwise, you might end up disturbing others. A 20 feet long and 13 feet wide room is ideal, however, you can go with a bedroom that is at least 12 by 12 feet. If you have multiple floors, consider using the floor that isn't used much for the theater.
Plan the seating positions in accordance with the screen size
While deciding on the seating position, it is important that you get the placement exactly right. For this, draw two lines from the seating position to the edges of the screen. You now have an angle that should not be less than 33-35 degrees, or more than 40 degrees, for the best viewing experience. Use comfortable sofas for an authentic theater-like experience.
Choosing between a TV screen or projector
If you choose a TV screen for your home cinema room, choose a slimline TV with smart features, and good picture quality. If the seats are going to eight-12 feet from the screen, then choose a TV with a 75-inch screen size. However, if you want a screen size between 100 and 120 inches with a more professional feel, then choose a projector.
Choosing a sound system
Buy a multi-channel audio system as the built-in sound and stereo speakers in TVs will not offer you an authentic experience. Add extra speakers above, to the side, behind, and in the front of the screen along with subwoofers. Consider soundproofing the room as well. The floor should have thick carpets. Use acoustic boards on the walls and acoustic tiles on the ceiling.
Consider the lighting
The correct lighting can take your home theater game to another level. You can add recessed lighting in the ceilings and wall sconces throughout the room. Connect the lights to an RF dimmer and set the lights to auto-dim to enjoy the movie in the perfect manner. You can also install low-voltage lighting on the floor to create the perfect theater-like ambiance.
