Planning a summer wedding? Try these bridal outfit hacks
The grandeur of the big fat Indian wedding can be captivating, but in the process of creating an extraordinary experience, our own comfort sometimes takes a backseat. This becomes evident when choosing bridal ensembles for a summer wedding. Considering this, Priyanka of label Summer by Priyanka Gupta, shares fashion tips to ensure brides look stunning without compromising comfort during this hot and humid season.
Choose lightweight fabric
For your bridal attire, choose airy materials like georgette, chiffon, or organza. "These materials allow for better airflow, keeping you cool and comfortable throughout the wedding festivities," says Gupta. Similarly, choose silhouettes with flowing lines and lots of breathing space. "You can get both style and comfort with A-line lehengas, anarkalis, or sarees with lighter decorations," she says.
Opt for softer colors
Be careful while selecting colors for a summer wedding. You must take into consideration the temperature outside and the color wheel. Gupta recommends going for soft or pastel colors for your bridal ensemble. "Pastel shades like mint green, peach, baby pink, or powder blue can add a refreshing touch to your look and complement the season," the designer says.
Consider sheer details
Apart from choosing a light fabric, be sure to look for sheer details in your outfit. "Incorporate sheer panels or lightweight net fabrics in your bridal outfit to add an ethereal and breezy element," Gupta suggests. Additionally, you can also go for sheer sleeves, a sheer dupatta, or a sheer back. These can enhance the overall aesthetics while ensuring enough airflow.
Go for skin-friendly makeup
Gupta recommends using lightweight, water-based foundations and makeup products that are long-lasting and suitable for warm and humid weather. "Opt for a natural, dewy look that enhances your features without feeling heavy on the skin," she says. Likewise, brides need to also be careful about hair accessories. Choose lightweight and minimalistic hair accessories that won't weigh your hair down.
Wear comfortable accessories
Your wedding footwear holds the power to make your day truly special or turn it into a disastrous and uncomfortable walking experience. So, it's essential to choose shoes that combine beauty with practicality and comfort. "If you'll be standing for long hours, consider wedges or block heels instead of stilettos for better stability and ease of movement," Gupta says.
