Bobby Deol's birthday: How the actor got ripped for 'Animal'
With his vicious antagonistic character in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, Bobby Deol (and his chiseled look!) became the talk of the town. Many are praising the actor profusely for the sequence in which he strips off to spar with Ranbir Kapoor. As he celebrates his birthday today, let's find out the secrets to his ripped, "animalistic" body that has swept many off their feet.
Deol indulged in 4 months of rigorous training
Deol underwent intense training for almost four months to attain this physique. However, during one of his recent interviews, the actor shared that he started working out dedicatedly when he was offered Race 3. From then on it has been six years and he has been on it. Prajwal Shetty, a celebrity fitness trainer, helped him transform for Animal.

The actor spent 3 hours in the gym daily
During an interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Deol revealed, "I would spend three hours in the gym in a day because I had to train for that period. I was always exhausted but I kept pushing myself." Additionally, he would do cardio exercises in the morning and in between his shots as well. According to Shetty, the lad dedicated one hour daily to weight training.
'Vanga wanted Deol to look broader than Kapoor': Shetty
Speaking to AajTak, Shetty mentioned that Vanga wanted Deol to look broader than Kapoor. As he adhered to the instructions, Deol's body fat percentage dropped to 12 as a result of the duo's tireless efforts. The actor's weight ranged from 85 to 90, which is not bad considering his good body mass intake. Deol's physical makeover really impressed the director.
He changed his diet, called it 'a really big sacrifice'
Per reports, the actor went completely off-carbs two months before he started shooting for Animal. He only used to savor protein and veggie-rich dishes. Being an absolute foodie at heart, he called this "a really big sacrifice" since he had to be mindful of his diets. According to him, for maintaining a good physique, 70% is your diet and 30% is your workout.
Here's what Deol ate during 'Animal' shoot
Shetty, during an interview, shared that Deol used to have eggs for breakfast. For lunch, he had a non-vegetarian dish and rice coupled with oatmeal, which he chose as a source of carbs. He ate salads in the evening and his dinner scenes largely included some healthy portions of two-three non-vegetarian offerings. All this went on for four continous months!
