If you want to include yoga in your daily lifestyle, start with these five simple asanas.
Sukhasana or easy pose
As the name suggests, sukhasana is the simplest and the most basic yoga pose you can learn. You have to sit cross-legged on the floor and make sure your ambiance is silent. Close your eyes and deep breathe slowly for at least a minute. Extend it to another minute, if you're comfortable. This asana keeps you calm, attentive, and relaxed.
Balasana or child pose
Balasana is the perfect yoga pose to get started with for beginners. Kneel on the floor and sit back on your heels. Bend forward until your thighs and chest are in contact. You can rest your hands by the side or extend them ahead. Hold for three-five minutes and it is done. Practicing this pose relaxes your muscles and helps you sleep better.
Tadasana or mountain pose
This excellent yoga asana helps in improving body posture, balance, and coordination. Stand with your feet slightly apart and interlock the fingers of your hands. Turn the wrists outward. Inhale, raise your arms over your head, lift your heels, and stretch your back. Hold for 10 seconds. Exhale, bring down your heels, release the interlocking fingers, and relax.
Setu Bandhasana or bridge pose
Lie on your back and bend your knees, ensuring your heels are pulled toward the body. Keep your arms by the side. Now lift your thighs and hips keeping them parallel to the floor, and tighten the glutes. Hold your ankles with your hands. Now maintain this asana for a minute and then come back to the original position.
Savasana or corpse pose
This one is another easy-peasy yoga pose that can soothe your senses in a jiffy. All you have to do is, lie down on the floor, place your hands on your sides, and keep your feet apart. Now close your eyes, relax, breathe deeply, and focus on each breath slowly. You can do it easily for five minutes to get rid of stress.
