Troubled with spiders? These home remedies can keep them away
Tired of removing cobwebs and chasing spiders away but to no avail? Well, say no more! There is a multitude of natural and home remedies that can keep these scary pests away from inhabiting your home, which neither requires any painstaking efforts nor fancy ingredients. So without any further ado, let us acquaint you with five of them.
Peppermint oil
Peppermint oil has a strong scent that spiders detest, which makes it a great remedy to keep them away. All you have to do is, add about 15 to 20 drops of this essential oil in a bottle filled with water, mix or shake it well, and then pour this mixture into a spray bottle. Spritz at spider-infested areas of your space.
White vinegar
White vinegar is considered a natural pest repellent. It is loaded with acetic acid which spiders can't tolerate. Mix equal proportions of water and vinegar in a bottle, shake and mix well, and then pour it into a spray bottle. Use this mixture around the house, especially in areas that feature cracks and crevices.
Citrus fruits
While citrus fruits are super wholesome for us humans, for spiders they are no less than a nightmare. These scary insects can't stand the scent and taste of citrus fruits, which is why it is a great idea to rub lemon or orange peel on regions where spiders may make cobwebs. You can also use lemon-scented cleaners or citronella candles.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon is another fantastic home remedy to steer clear of spiders at home since they don't like the scent of this spice. It repels these insects, thus having them maintain a fair amount of distance from the area it has been used on. You can simply spray some cinnamon oil on possible regions. It will also keep other insects at bay.
Cedar
The powerful scent of cedar is also quite helpful in detesting these arachnids at home. With that said, you can bring home a cedar plant and place it in a region where spiders are most likely to enter. This can also come in handy to show clothes moths and various other insects the exit door. The woody aroma is a bonus for you!
