Home remedies for plaque: These hacks offer relief
Plaque is a mustard or brown biofilm/covering on the teeth that is caused due to oral bacteria and other microorganisms that penetrate gums. If not removed immediately, it can act way too stubborn to get rid of, leading to many gum-related ailments. These natural and home remedies can offer a quick and effective respite. However, always seek a dentist for the right guidance.
Baking soda
Baking soda is one of the most effective remedies as it combats plaque-causing oral bacteria and neutralizes the acids in the mouth. All you have to do is, take a reasonable amount of hydrogen peroxide and to this, add a teaspoon of baking soda. Use this paste to brush your teeth but ensure that you don't use it frequently. Once/twice a week is good.
Make a vitamin-based toothpaste
It's time for some DIY! You can make vitamin toothpaste at home to vanish plaque or tartar from your teeth. Simply mix orange, lemon, strawberry, tomato, watermelon, pineapple, and papaya until you attain a paste. Rub your teeth with this for about five minutes and then rinse your mouth with cold water. This hinders bacteria growth in your mouth and keeps teeth/gum safe.
Cloves
When it comes to oral hygiene, cloves have been a part of several age-old remedies that maintain one's dental health. This spice is loaded with strong antimicrobial properties that fight off bacteria responsible for tartar and plaque. Mix one tablespoon of clove powder with olive oil and then rub the mixture on your teeth for a while. Later, rinse with lukewarm water.
Aloe vera
Dental health professionals back the benefits of aloe vera when it comes to oral health issues like tooth decay and plaque. Simply mix half a cup of baking soda with a cup of water. Add a few drops of fresh aloe vera juice to this mixture. Mix well to prepare a paste and then rub it on the affected tooth for some time.
Sesame seeds
Sesame seeds can work as an excellent scrub to peel off plaque and tartar from your teeth. For this to work, simply grab a handful of these seeds and chew them up. Do not swallow but instead use your toothbrush to brush your teeth while they are still inside your mouth. These will work as a scrub and remove stains effectively.
