    What's the story

Burnt your skin while cooking or accidentally touching something hot?

Well, sometimes, minor burns don't require an immediate trip to the hospital as they can be treated at home.

Yes, there are many natural and home remedies that you can put to use to get instant relief from pain and to cut down the risk of infection.

    Here are some of them.

    Remedy 1

    Aloe vera

Per studies, aloe vera has shown strong results in treating first-degree and second-degree burns, for it is packed with potent anti-inflammatory properties.

It also hinders the growth of bacteria which, otherwise, could result in infection.

Apply some fresh aloe vera gel on the burnt area of your skin and let it stay there. You can repeat it multiple times a day.

    Remedy 2

    Yogurt

Yogurt is loaded with enzymes and cooling properties that make it an effective remedy for treating burns at home.

It helps in cooling the burning sensation and nourishes the affected area.

All you have to do is, take some fresh yogurt from your refrigerator and apply it to the burnt skin.

Allow it to stay for a while or until you feel better.

    Remedy 3

    Baking soda

Baking soda is another ingredient that you can easily find in your kitchen. It has powerful antibacterial and healing agents that come in handy to reduce pain or burning sensation.

Additionally, it restores the pH levels of the skin, speeding up the healing process and preventing infection.

Simply make a paste by mixing baking soda and water and apply it to the burnt injury.

    Remedy 4

    Honey

Honey is often called liquid gold, for it is blessed with multiple healing compounds that offer relief from minor burns.

The same has also been confirmed by studies conducted over the years.

First, clean the burnt area with cold water and then apply a good amount of honey to it. Let it stay overnight, if possible.

You can also repeat this multiple times daily.

    Remedy 5

    Cold milk

Just like yogurt, cold milk also has cooling agents. It is also abundant with fats that soothe the skin and enzymes that heal wounds.

Simply let the affected area soak in cold milk for a few minutes or soak a piece of cotton in it and then cover the burnt area with it for a few minutes.

Repeat this after every few hours.
