On a weight loss journey? Expert recommends eating these fruits
When it comes to weight loss, people often switch to a fruit-based diet. However, if you thought that all fruits aid in shedding those extra kilos you are wrong. Health experts believe that certain fruits are excessively high in calories and do more harm than good. Aakash Bansal, a certified dietician, founder, and fitness expert at FormFit, recommends eating these fruits for weight loss.
Berries
Berries are some of the healthiest foods you can eat. "They're low in calories and high in fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. Generally, all berries are low in calories," Bansal told NewsBytes. He said, "One cup of strawberries has less than 50 calories," so you can add fresh or frozen berries in yogurts, salads, cereals, or smoothies, for breakfast.
Oranges
"Oranges are very low in calories. They are high in fiber and packed with vitamin C and other essential antioxidants that can help you maintain a healthy weight," informed the certified nutritionist. According to him, "One medium-sized orange provides just 73 calories and 2.8 grams of fiber," which makes it a great fruit to include in a weight-loss diet.
Apples
Apples are one of the best low-calorie fruits that you can eat every day. "A medium-sized apple has around 52 calories, so if you are looking to lose weight, this fruit can be a great option," said Bansal. While you can them raw, Bansal mentioned, "Apples can be consumed in a variety of ways, you can add them to salads, yogurt, cereals, etc."
Watermelon
"Because 90% of a watermelon's weight is water, it's one of the best fruits to eat if you're trying to lose weight," mentioned the founder of FormFit. He said that in addition to helping the body stay hydrated, snacking on watermelon will also help you feel full. "A 100-gram serving contains only 30 calories," he added. Well, losing weight just got delicious!
Kiwi
This small tropical green-colored fruit is full of nutrients such as vitamin C, folate, and fiber. "One medium-sized kiwifruit provides 42 kcal and 2.1 g of fiber," shared the fitness coach. If you don't like eating kiwi raw, Bansal suggests that you can also juice it, use it in salads, add it to your morning cereal, or use it in baked goods."
