Sonia Verma: Successful artist, a dancing icon of national repute
Sonia Verma wears different hats as far as her professional life is concerned. She is a big name in the dance industry apart from being an entrepreneur. She holds a top name in the event and wedding industry and has carved her niche in the domain of dance. All thanks to her passion, she has mastered different forms of dance.
Bringing the trend of dance reality shows on Indian channels
Verma has participated in different dance reality shows, where she has been a finalist. She first had appeared on the popular dance show, India's Got Talent. In fact, she is the one who has set the trend of bringing dance reality shows on Indian TV channels. Verma brought a couple of dance shows to Indian channels, which also introduced dance forms like acrobat dance.
She has also won an award for acting
With her exceptional dance skills, she emerged as a competent dancer in seasons one and two. She has been linked with other dance reality shows as well. These include Sony TV's Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega. Along with dancing, she also was seen in a documentary film, Delhi-16, which helped her bag the best actress award at an international film festival.
She and her husband founded the Aasma Dance Company
Besides this, she has also remained a part and parcel of a few Bollywood film festivals including the one in Norway. Verma has participated and performed in the said film festival from 2007 to 2012. Her passion for dance has even helped her open up a dance company known as Aasma Dance Company with her husband, Ashish Mathur.
Verma plans to start her own high-end dance academy
Verma has maintained a good rapport with top dance groups like Indian Council for cultural relations and was thus, able to organize different dance shows in collaboration with Diwakar. In the near future, she plans to start her own high-end dance academy and attract top talents all across the country to shape them well in different forms of dance.
