Gautam Gambhir promises lifetime education to J&K martyr's daughter Zohra
Cricketer Gautam Gambhir has now vowed to support the education of Zohra, the five-year-old daughter of a martyr whose tears silenced thousands. Zohra's father Abdul Rashid, assistant sub inspector, was shot dead by terrorists in Kashmir's Anantnag a week ago. Since then, heartbreaking images of her crying at her father's funeral have gone viral; she had mehndi on her hands, apparently for Bakri Eid.
Gambhir says he will support Zohra's education for lifetime
Even the DIG has a message for Zohra
The South Kashmir DIG has also posted a long message for Zohra on the official Facebook page. "Your tears have shaken many hearts. Every drop of your tear sears our heart. Remember we all are one family at this critical phase."
The cost of the ongoing war is human lives
This year, 23 cops died in terrorist attacks till July, the highest in four years. Rashid's name has been added to the list now. But his daughters don't understand what's happening. "Why was he killed?" asked his elder daughter Akhtar. Hundreds had gathered for Rashid's funeral including top cops. According to J&K Police Chief SP Vaid, human lives is the price of this war.
