Delhi youth stabbed to death for objecting to public drinking
A 26-year-old man was stabbed to death and his younger brother was badly beaten up after the two objected to three men who were consuming alcohol outside their shop in Mangolpuri, Delhi. The three accused were allegedly drinking and creating a ruckus close to the deceased, identified as Tarun and his injured brother Durgesh's shop. Police have arrested one of the three accused.
Scuffle broke out, accused stabbed Tarun multiple times
Tarun and Durgesh were called in to help their father in the shop. When they told the three accused, who were in their late thirties, to leave, a scuffle broke out. Durgesh said, "Suddenly, they took out knives and attacked us. My elder brother was stabbed multiple times." After Tarun collapsed, the accused fled. Tarun succumbed to his injuries.
Police interrogating one arrested accused to nab absconders
A case was registered at Mangolpuri police station under sections 302 (punishment for murder), 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 (common intention). Police are awaiting Tarun's autopsy report and are going through CCTV footage of the crime-scene. Police said they are interrogating one arrested accused him to nab the absconders. After the incident, some locals threw stones at a bus to protest police inaction.
