IIT Kharagpur to host youth conclave for budding engineers
IIT Kharagpur is set to host the two-day 'INAE Youth Conclave' from March 23, aiming to engage budding engineers from different disciplines. Students are expected to develop new applications, innovative technologies or devise workable action plans to answer pressing problems in contemporary time at the INAE (Indian National Academy of Engineering) competition, an IIT-KGP statement read. The competition will be held in two phases.
What is the objective of this conclave?
"One of the objectives of the INAE is to provide a forum for our youth to manifest their budding talents and entrepreneurship zeal for improving the lives of common people," Professor Jayanta Mukhopadhyay of the CSE Department said. Finalists will be selected during their presentations between March 23-25, and given time from April to July to work on new assignments and improve upon existing solutions.
What else has been planned?
Apart from the academic segment, there are two other segments - Product Design and Development, and Mobile Application Development. The problems presented to students in the first phase will be related to contemporary issues such as unemployability of engineering students, and devising a new curriculum for engineering colleges. "The winning recommendation will be sent to the AICTE," Professor MK Tiwari, a part of the institute faculty, said.
