UP youth arrested for objectionable message on WhatsApp
A youth from Uttar Pradesh was arrested on Thursday after a BJP leader filed a complaint against him alleging that an objectionable message was posted on a WhatsApp group of which the youth is an admin, the police said on Friday. BJP divisional president Vineet Thakur had filed the complaint against the admin and another group member of the messaging application. Here's more.
BJP leader alleged the message had "hurt religious sentiments"
Following the BJP leader's complaint the youth was arrested yesterday in Khatauli town, a police official said. Thakur had alleged that a message, which was posted on the group, had "hurt sentiments" of a particular religion. BJP activists, led by Thakur, had staged protests demanding action, the official said. Earlier today two tutors were arrested for leaking SSC exam papers in Mumbai through WhatsApp.
