'Youngsters without political background entering politics will strengthen democracy': Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his monthly Mann Ki Baat broadcast on Sunday, said his Independence Day call for one lakh youth without political backgrounds to join politics has received widespread response. He stated that many youngsters are eager to participate in politics, but require the right opportunities and guidance. The prime minister also noted that he has received letters and social media reactions from young individuals who believe family politics stifles fresh talent.
PM Modi's call for youth participation in politics
He believes youths joining politics will contribute significantly toward a developed India and a more robust democracy. The PM drew parallels with the freedom movement, where countless individuals from diverse backgrounds dedicated themselves to India's independence despite lacking political experience. "They devoted themselves entirely to India's independence. Today, to achieve the vision of a Viksit Bharat, we need to rekindle that same spirit once again," he said.
PM Modi interacts with young space entrepreneurs
During the 'Mann Ki Baat' broadcast, PM Modi also interacted with several young entrepreneurs leading various space start-ups. "On 23rd August, the nation marked the first National Space Day, celebrating the success of Chandrayaan-3. Last year, on this day, Chandrayaan-3 had made a successful landing on the southern part of the moon at the Shiv-Shakti point," he said.
PM Modi highlights importance of Sanskrit, nutrition
In addition to political and scientific discussions, PM Modi underscored the significance of Sanskrit language and its global recognition during his 'Mann Ki Baat' address. He emphasized on toy recycling and stressed on the importance of children's nutrition, announcing the observance of 'Poshan Maah' from September 1 to September 30 every year. The Prime Minister also extended his greetings to Telugu speakers worldwide for Telugu Language Day on August 29.
