Yogi government removes top cop after Gorakhpur defeat
Continuing its transfer spree after the shocking defeat in the parliamentary by-election, the Uttar Pradesh government has now removed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Satyarth Aniruddh Pankaj. After the BJP's defeat in Gorakhpur (bastion of CM Yogi Adityanath) by-election, the UP government has removed 43 IPS officers so far. Here's more.
SSP Gorakhpur has been made SP personnel
According to state government's press statement, the SSP Satyarth Aniruddh Pankaj has been made SP personnel. Shalabh Mathur, who was holding the charge of commandant of 23rd battalion of PAC in Moradabad, replaced SSP Pankaj. On March 16, the Uttar Pradesh government had transferred 37 IAS officers including the Gorakhpur District Magistrate Rajiv Rautela. He was replaced by K Vijayendra Pandiyan.
Further, 16 district magistrates transferred
Among the Indian Administrative Service officers transferred, 16 were district magistrates. Rajiv Rautela, former DM of Gorakhpur has been appointed as new Divisional Commissioner of Devipatan division. Rajiv Kapoor has been appointed as Chairman of the PIICUP, while Alok Sinha has been made Additional Chief Secretary of Commercial and Entertainment tax. District Magistrate of Bareilly, Raghvendra Singh, has been made Special Secretary.
