#HealthBytes: Five things you probably shouldn't do right before sex
A healthy and satisfying sex life is crucial for the couple's overall mental, physical and emotional well-being. However, quite like the emotional ups and downs, there are good as well as bad times in the sexual equation between partners. Naturally, mistakes may happen, but can be timely prevented. Here are five things you should never do right before having sex.
Don't: Go for a quick shave
If you like it clean down there, it might seem a good idea to head to the washroom for a quick shave, before you hit the sheets with your partner. But the consequences just aren't worth the effort, as the trimming might leave the skin irritated, and let's not even talk about erroneous last-minute cuts. Instead, shave a day in advance.
Don't: Be stressed
Needless to say, stress can mess up with your brain, and might as well affect your performance in bed. To help yourself, try relaxing activities like deep breathing, meditation, or anything that works for you. You can also ask your partner to give you a nice, dry (without oil) massage to calm you down and set the mood.
Don't: Forget the lube
For the sake of a smooth session, just don't forget getting some lube in advance. Lubrication comes handy during sex, as it reduces friction, and makes sex more comfortable and pleasurable. Just make sure to use natural, water and silicon-based lubricants, as oil or jelly-based ones might not go well with the condom, even risking it for breakage.
Don't: Eat too heavy; Drink too much
If you are hungry before sex, go for something light, as heavyweight meals will make you feel sluggish, thus reducing your performance under the sheets. Also, avoid excessively spicy foods. Also, stay away from heavy drinking before getting busy in bedroom. It will not only make you irresponsible, but is also known to affect your ability to have an orgasm.
