Woman arrested for killing husband who had five wives
A woman has been arrested in Nagpur for allegedly killing her husband, a police official said on Thursday. "Swati Laxman Malik (28), the accused, was the fifth wife of victim Laxman Ramlal Malik (65), a resident of Jaripatka," police said. According to police, Laxman had disowned his younger son he had from Swati as he suspected her fidelity.
Swati slit Laxman's throat with a knife
On Monday, Swati allegedly met Laxman at his friend's office where he was staying after leaving home. She then tied his hands behind a chair and they got physically intimate, after which she allegedly slit his throat with a knife.
Laxman and Swati had disputes over money: Police official
"After learning from a cab driver that he had dropped Swati outside Laxman's place on Monday, police grilled her and she confessed to the crime," an official said. "The two used to have disputes over money," he said. According to police, Laxman, who retired as a sanitation worker from a hospital, did not get along with any of his five wives or children.
Similar incident reported in Hyderabad
A similar incident of a wife killing her husband was reported in Hyderabad earlier this month. A 22-year-old woman threw her three-year-old nephew off the building as she was upset with her husband for paying more attention to the child, according to India Today. She tied up the kid and tossed him off the building leading to several injuries that resulted in his death.
