Kanpur: Fed up with eve teasing, woman commits suicide
What's the story
A woman allegedly committed suicide after she got fed up of facing humiliation due to repeated eve-teasing.
The woman, aged around 19 years, was a second-year student of Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) at the CSJM University in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur, police said on Monday.
The woman was allegedly eve-teased by two senior students of her institute, added police.

Victim complained to police about eve-teasing on March 12
The woman who hanged herself to a ceiling fan at her house told her father that two senior students ─Aniket Pandey and Aniket Dixit─ used to humiliate her daily, said SSP Akhilesh Kumar.
She had also complained to police on March 12, but later she had said in writing that she does not want any action against the alleged eve-teasers, the SSP added.

Woman's family members have leveled charges on the police
The woman's family members have leveled serious charges against Kalyanpur police.
They have alleged that police colluded with the accused and let them roam freely that abetted the girl to take the extreme step.
On the basis of this complaint, Sub-Inspector Ajay Mishra has been placed under suspension, while Station House Officer Sameer Singh has been attached to the reserve police lines, SSP said.
