According to IANS, the man's friend Arun and a relative, Anil would often meet at their home to drink and gamble. On one particular day of gambling last month, the man put his wife at stake and lost her, following which, Arun and Anil raped her. The victim then fled to her maternal uncle's home, where the man followed her and apologized.

Victim was raped a second time by her husband's friends
After the man admitted that he had made a mistake, the victim got into his car to go home with him. However, he stopped the vehicle on their way back home, and allowed two of his friends to rape his wife, a second time. The victim eventually approached the Zafarabad police station, however, the police reportedly refused to file a complaint.

Victim moved court after husband 'lost' her in another gamble
According to The Times of India, a week after the incident, the man 'lost' his wife in a similar gambling session for a second time. Frustrated, the victim moved the Jaunpur district court on Thursday. Following a court order, a complaint was registered with the Zafarabad police station. However, the accused are absconding and the police are yet to make any arrests.
