Five rape woman in front of husband, video goes viral
In a horrifying incident, a woman, who was travelling with her husband, was allegedly raped by five men in the Alwar district of Rajasthan on April 26. As per reports, the five accused also thrashed the couple, recorded the horrific crime and uploaded the video on the Internet. Meanwhile, no arrests have been made so far. Here are the details.
A complaint was filed on April 30 by the survivor
After the incident, the survivor lodged a complaint on April 30 and informed that she was traveling from her village Lalwadi to Talvriksha on a motorcycle with her husband. As per the complaint, "The woman's vehicle was stopped by a group of five men travelling on two motorcycles. The woman's husband was beaten by two persons while the remaining three gang-raped her."
The viral video has sparked an outrage among the locals
Later, the two accused, who thrashed her husband, also raped her. The complaint further stated, "They also made a video recording of the incident and threatened the victims they would kill them if they complain to the police." The video of the act went viral yesterday and sparked an outrage among the locals. Protests are now being held against the police authorities.
Accused's influential background held woman back from filing a complaint
Moreover, the woman, who is a Dalit, also heard the names of the three of the five men, which are Sachin, Jitu and Ashok. According to the reports, the five accused come from influential families of the region. Due to the fear of their background, the woman and her husband held themselves back from filing a complaint for four days.
Police has finally started the probe
According to the police, a case has been registered under the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act, 2015, along with the relevant sections of the IPC (Indian Penal Code). An investigation into the matter has also been started. As per reports, the police justified the laxity by saying they were busy in making arrangements for the elections.
