Rajasthan: 10-year-old sees mother in intimate position with 14-year-old; murdered
A 24-year-old woman was arrested and a 14-year-old boy was detained in connection with the murder of the 10-year-old son of the woman in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district. Notably, the 14-year-old boy was the cousin of the victim. According to police, the woman and the boy killed the 10-year-old after he saw the duo in an intimate position on February 9.
The accused had illicit relationship: Police
Based on suspicion, police detained the woman and the nephew of her husband, Circle Officer of Jaisalmer Priyanka Yadav said. During interrogation, it came to light that the duo had an illicit relationship, Yadav said. The woman's son had seen both of them in an intimate position, following which they killed the boy, fearing he would disclose it to the family members, police added.
Body recovered from well on February 10
After killing the boy, the woman and the victim's nephew dumped the body in a well, police said. The body was recovered from the well on the morning of February 10, they added.
Victim's father lodged a complaint on February 10
Police said the victim's father lodged a complaint at the Jhinjhinyali Police station on February 10 after the body was found. In his complaint, he said his son had been missing since February 9 and they were not being able to trace him. Raising suspicion that the boy had been killed by unknown persons, he sought action against the culprits.
Police formed teams to investigate the matter
Following the complaint, the police constituted multiple teams to investigate the matter under the supervision of Jaisalmer's Additional Superintendent of Police Narendra Chaudhury. Police said the investigation was started on the basis of technical evidence, intelligence collection, and interrogation of the suspects.
