Rajasthan: Delhi woman raped by 23 men in Bikaner
In a horrific incident, a 28-year-old Delhi woman was brutally raped by 23 men after being allegedly abducted from the outskirts of Bikaner. She went to Bikaner to check on her plot and was waiting for transport to go back near Jaipur Road's Khatu Shyam Mandir. At 2:30pm, two men pulled her into an SUV; they called more men who raped her.
Rape case against two named suspects, 21 unidentified suspects
After abducting the victim, the men raped her while driving around some mines. They called six others who also raped her. She was taken to a Palana power station and was assaulted by more men. She was abducted on 25 September and was dropped near Khatu Shyam Mandir at 4am on 26 September. She filed a police complaint at Bikaner's Jai Narayan Vyas Colony.
Sadar Circle Officer Rajendra Singh's statement
Singh, the case's investigating officer, said cops have recovered some condoms from the places mentioned by the woman in her complaint. He added, "She has recorded her statement before a magistrate under section 164 of the CrPC and repeated what she wrote in the FIR."
No arrests made in the case so far
Jai Narayan Vyas Colony Police Station House Officer, Harjindar Sing, said two suspects have been identified as Raju and Subhash. The victim's FIR mentioned two mobile phone numbers that were dialed by the men to call others, and also the vehicle's registration number. Harjindar Sing added that the woman's medical examination has been completed and its report is awaited.
Highest number of rape cases
According to the National Crime Records Bureau, Rajasthan reported the highest number of rape cases in India in 2015. The state recorded as many as 3,644 rape cases; it was the third most unsafe state for women after Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra that year.
