CBSE releases list of 113 courses to pursue after Class-12
In a student-friendly initiative, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently released a list of courses, which students can pursue after Class 12. The list released by the CBSE contains the details of different courses with varying subject combinations, colleges for each course and their eligibility criteria. The 122-page long list includes 113 courses including traditional, new age and popular courses.
Initiative to create awareness, CBSE urges to research before applying
According to the press release, the intention behind the list is to create awareness among the students about a plethora of available options. There are more than 900 universities and 41,000 colleges, which can provide all the courses mentioned in the list. However, CBSE has urged students to research further as many courses are offered by private universities and colleges.
Complete list available on official site, will update content further
The career options in the list includes engineering, liberal studies, mass communications, direction, languages, public relations, and many more. You can check the complete list on the official website of CBSE, cbse.nic.in. Although CBSE has also mentioned that the list is not exhaustive, and its purpose is to generate curiosity, further efforts will be made by the board to update the list.
Purpose is to generate curiosity in students to explore: Chairperson
Anita Karwal, CBSE Chairperson, said, "The purpose of this compendium is to generate enough curiosity in the students to explore further on the scope, possibilities, avenues, for each course and to look for options beyond these courses as well." "This will help them get information about various course choices, institutes and combinations available in higher education beforehand after class 10 itself," she added.
Class 12 results to be declared by May 10
Earlier, CBSE also launched its Podcast app, Shiksha Vani, to circulate information to stakeholders. Although the board exams are still going on, evaluation has begun. CBSE is planning to announce Class 12 results by May 10 this year to ease the admission process for students.
