SC's Aadhaar verdict: Slap on BJP's face, says Congress
What's the story
The Congress today welcomed the Supreme Court decision to strike down Section 57 of the Aadhaar Act, which allowed private parties to access Aadhaar data, and termed it a "slap on the face of BJP".
Congress national spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi took to Twitter to laud the decision of the apex court, which has, however, declared the Center's flagship Aadhaar scheme constitutionally valid.

It's better to be unique than be the best: SC
The five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra said Aadhaar is meant to help benefits reach marginalized sections of society and takes into account the dignity of people not only from the personal but also from community point of view.
It said Aadhaar serves a bigger public interest, adding Aadhaar means unique and it's better to be unique than be the best.
