IMD predicts heavy rainfall in these states today
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in several regions across the country. The areas expected to be most affected include North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam on Wednesday. Coastal Karnataka is also predicted to experience similar weather conditions on Wednesday and Thursday, while South Interior Karnataka will see heavy rains on Thursday.
Kerala, Mahe to witness isolated heavy rainfall
The IMD has also predicted isolated heavy rainfall in Kerala and Mahe on Thursday, September 29 (Sunday), and September 30 (Monday). Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are expected to experience similar weather conditions on Thursday. Additionally, Telangana and Karnataka are also likely to see heavy rains on the same day. The weather department has issued these forecasts in its official release.
Mumbai braces for heavy rainfall, gusty winds
Mumbai is also bracing for heavy to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds on Thursday. The city is likely to experience heavy rainfall at isolated locations on Friday. Light to moderate rain is expected on Saturday and Sunday. A moderate flash flood risk over a few watersheds and neighborhoods of the Gujarat Region, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, and Goa has been forecasted for Wednesday and Thursday.
Central India, east and northeast India to witness rainfall
Central India is also expected to experience fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh in the next three days. A similar weather pattern is predicted for Madhya Pradesh throughout the week. In East and Northeast India, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim over the next seven days.
Northwest India to experience light to moderate rainfall
Northwest India is likely to experience isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall, except for East Uttar Pradesh where similar weather conditions are expected over the next two days. This will be followed by scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall during the subsequent five days of the week. Isolated heavy rainfall is also expected in Himachal Pradesh on Friday, Uttarakhand on Friday and Saturday, East Uttar Pradesh from Sunday through Tuesday and West Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
