We are making preparations to host 2036 Olympics, says Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated all athletes and players who participated in the recently concluded 2024 Paris Olympics on Independence Day. He also extended his best wishes to all the Paralympians who will be leaving for Paris for the games, and expressed confidence that India will be able to host the 2036 Olympics. The Paralympics will be held from August 28 to September 8.
'India organizing G20 Summit proves India can organize large-scale events'
"India organizing the G20 Summit on a large scale has proven that India has the capability to organize large-scale events...It is the dream of India to host 2036 Olympics, we are making preparations for that," he said. Before the Indian delegation left for Paris for the Olympics last month, the prime pinister indicated that India is confident in its ability to host the games.

He also urged all athletes to share their thoughts on the arrangements in Paris to help the country's goal of bringing the event to India. Modi promises 75,000 new medical seats
Other important preparations being made by the government include 75,000 new seats in the medical sector. "Every year, many children from our country go abroad to pursue medical education." "Students spend lakhs and crores for medical education abroad. To address this, we are introducing 75,000 new medical seats in the next five years," he said.
One Nation, One Election
In his concluding speech, PM Modi urged the political community to support the idea of "One Nation, One Election." "It is crucial for the nation to unite behind this initiative. Frequent elections create stagnation in the nation. Today, every scheme and initiative seems to be influenced by election cycles, and every action is colored by political considerations," the prime minister said.
