WB colleges can extend admission deadline beyond Aug-20: Education Minister
Colleges in West Bengal can extend the date for admission to undergraduate courses beyond the deadline of August 20 if there are vacant seats, state Education Minister Partha Chatterjee told reporters in Kolkata yesterday. On July 17, the West Bengal government had extended the last date for admission to UG streams in colleges from mid-July to August 20.
Reports suggest many seats are lying vacant in WB colleges
On reports of many seats lying vacant in several colleges all over the state, Chatterjee said that it'd have to be looked on a case-by-case basis. "If the college has the required infrastructure and if its governing body seeks an extension of the admission deadline owing to some vacant seats, they can still continue with the admission process, on a case-by-case basis," Chatterjee said.
