Gurugram: Man seen chasing a burning car, video goes viral
On Tuesday evening, in a dramatic incident, a man was seen chasing his own burning car on a Gurugram flyover. The incident took place in Gurugram's Sector 25 when the man was returning home after distributing Diwali gifts. Several amateur videos of the incident has gone viral on social media since then. The unfortunate incident befell one Rakesh Chandel
The unfortunate incident befell 44-year-old Rakesh Chandel. Chandel had gone to distribute Diwali gifts to his relatives and was returning home when his Honda City caught fire on a flyover near Gurugram's Cybercity. When his car unexpectedly caught fire, Chandel jumped out and was seen running after the car in an effort to stop it. He also immediately called the police and emergency services.
Chandel: No one helped, people were busy recording videos
"I was shouting for help but people were busy recording videos, I was about to faint and no one came to help. Nobody even shared drinking water with me," said a distraught Chandel.
Police, fire tenders had rushed to the spot
After Chandel called the police and emergency services, a PCR reached the spot within minutes. However, efforts to stop the burning car failed. Meanwhile, fire tenders from the Sector 29 fire station arrived at the spot. The car finally came to a halt after it collided with an auto-rickshaw and a road divider. A case has been registered under Section 174 of the CrPC.
