Angry UP villagers kill tigress by running tractor over it
Angry villagers killed a tigress by running a tractor over it in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR) area yesterday evening, after the animal attacked a local resident, officials said. The incident came two days after hunters shot dead a tigress suspected of killing 13 people in Maharashtra. Field director of the tiger reserve, Ramesh Kumar Pandey said appropriate action will be taken in the matter.
Appropriate legal action is being taken, says DTR official
Confirming the killing of the animal, Mahavir Kaujlagi, deputy field-director of DTR said, "The carcass of the tigress has been found and appropriate legal action is being taken in the matter, including registration of FIR against the errant villagers."
